Insurance.com was founded in June of 2000, as ComparisonMarket, Inc. With support from some of the top insurance providers in the country, such as The Hartford, Liberty Mutual, Progressive and Travelers, we were quoting in 45 states by November of 2001. ComparisonMarket, Inc. acquired the Insurance.com Agency and domain name in July of 2003, and quickly put the strong brand name to work. By July of 2004 we had sold over 100,000 policies and by 2007, we had sold over 600,000 auto insurance policies.
